With my intent to go buy a mountain bike as a form of investment, what I really want to get into is to try mountain biking and discover the outdoors. I need to have a sport in order to keep fit and healthy since my job as a freelance content writer wherein I just sit all day can be quite difficult, at least health-wise.

I read and heard so many things about mountain bike and mountain biking, and I guess I am ready to get into the sport. For starters, I?ll just be just a starter, discovering easy trails but in the long run I?ll try to join groups who are into mountain biking as well. I did a little research and found out that mountain biking can be categorized as cross country, trail riding, all mountain, downhill free-ride, street riding, dirt jumping and trials. Most are into recreational biking and that?s what I want to be in a few weeks from now. My target is within 6 weeks I should buy my own mountain bike. Mountain biking as a sport is not easy; you?ll need to have a high level of fitness, core strength and balance and of course bike handling skills. As I count on the days, I think I am getting excited with my next mountain bike and mountain biking!

Mountain biking can be considered as a lifestyle as well. Every mountain biker should know how to handle himself in tough situations, for example learning how to repair broken tires or flat tires in order to avoid being stranded. Every serious mountain biker should have a bag with the essential tools and equipments, and some food items including water. On my next post, I?ll try to get into the mountain bike itself and the many accessories that are considered as mus-haves.
