Malibu BodhiFest Celebrates Mind, Body & Spirit, June 19

Malibu?s BodhiFest will take place on Sunday, June 19 from 8 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. at the Malibu Jewish Center & Synagogue. The 2011 theme is Enlightenment, and the day begins with yoga at 8 a.m. with local teacher Julie Carmen.

As a fundraiser, proceeds will go to Emerge Global, a US organization helping to empower Sri Lankan girls who have survived abuse to rediscover and celebrate their personal beauty, develop their self-sufficiency, and become leaders within their own communities; and a multi-media project about Buddhist movements in the U.S.

The mind-body-spirit celebration will include Buddhist teachings from various lineages, meditation instruction, live music, yoga for meditators, authors? book signings, children?s program, films with Q & as, kirtan, and healthy food and drinks.

Malibu Jewish Center & Synagogue is located at 24855 Pacific Coast Highway Malibu CA 90265.

Tickets are VIP: $100 (limited); General: $45, $50 at door; Students: $10 (5- 18, same at door; Seniors: 65+: $25, same at door. Donations can be made through Eventbright online at bodhifest2011.eventbrite.com
